- There was a very heavy snow storm in the year 1933 on the 25th February. There were several sheep lost in the snow. A man named Richard Rielly, Farranrory, Ballingarry went out looking for sheep that were lost in the snow and he got caught in a drift. When he was not returning the people went to look for him and they found him in a drift of snow. He was almost dead but after some few days he fully recovered and he still lives. There were about eight feet of snow on the roads and men were required to ready it so as to bring in bread into the people in Ballingarry who were starving. In October of the year 1926 there was a terrible wind storm and it raged terribly around this district. It blew all the corn from the gardens and it knocked hundreds of trees and it knocked slates off the houses.A great snow-storm occurred in the year 1924. A woman named Mrs. Ryan was returning from Ballingarry, Thurles to her home in the Commons, Ballingarry, Thurles. She was trapped in the snow which was about ten feet deep. It began to fall at four o'clock p.m. and it continued snowing until early on Christmas morning.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
