(continued from previous page)of a mountain by the name of Slíos this heiffer was too strong for the men they got her into a glen and one man hit her on the horns with a scyther so the heiffer kept running until she had too much blood given then to she fell dead, then they skimmed her and took the meat home. A farmer from Clogheen put twelve head of cattle grazing on Buckley's mountain. From time to time the cattle were missing until five of his cattle had completely disappeared. He went to the police and reported the case. He gave the names of the men he had suspicion Then police came along and searched Deerman's house. Deerman's wife was in bed pretending to be sick as they ordered her out of the bed but she would not for she said she would die. So the police lifted the bed and removed it to the other end of the room, under the bed there was a large hole sunk stand deep, and in the hole there was a barrell and it full of salted beef and mutton After this the police arrested Deernan(continues on next page)- Informant
