    looked upon as a great feast day, and it was no uncommon thing for a man to eat more than a dozen eggs that morning. Some of the old people still living tell us it was a great luxury to have a goose and that at Christmas. Tea was not used here until about fifty years ago and then only by the rich. Cups and saucers used were made of wood. The cups were called "Pigins". The old people say the spoons used were made of wood.
