    There are four blessed wells in the neighbourhood of Corofin the principal ones are in the parish of Kilnaboy. Saint Winifreds and saint Brigids. St Winifreds well is known as the Blessed Tree and is about a half a mile north of Corofin. It is an enclosed well and people have having weak eyes have been cured, by visiting the well on certain days visitors also have to leave some article at the well with the result that there is a large collection of coins, medals, buttons and even nails. There is a very big tree growing near the well known as the Blessed Tree, and there is a nice altar hung on the large trunk.
