“The Fianna Éireann had a vow to go where they were invited: another vow was, that when they saw a deer they should follow it until they caught up to it.”
(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)A few moments after another monster of a woman came, and Conan and herself tackled on one another. The King closed the door, and he let no more in. Conan and the woman faught hard, and the woman was beating Conan. Diarmuid had a javelin that he got at the castle of Baltard, and Conan used it. A spark went from the javelin and it weakened the woman. The woman fell, and she begged of him to let her go, and she said that maybe she would do something for him before morning. He let her go, and she wasn't seen again until break of day. There was dead silence then.
Diarmuid had two hounds, Scíolan, and Bran. The King asked would they put any of their dogs fighting with one he had. They said that they would. Bran and the hound began fighting and the fairy hound began winning fast. The Fianna did not know what was on Bran. Then Oisin said to Diarmuid "Tá na buataisí ar Bran."
"I'll get up" said Diarmuid.
"All right" said Oisin.
