- Long ago the people used to make wheaten bread and oaten meal bread
The people used to grow their own wheat and then it was ground by a quern
A quern is two big flat stones about twenty inches in diameter.
One of the stones is sunk into the ground with a hole in the middle.
The grain is then put on this stone and the other stone is left down on the grain
The top stone has two holes in it into which two long two long bits of timber are stuck.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
