    In the struggle for their rights the tenants suffered great hardships and evictions took place all over the country.
    Burdett Moroney's estate in Miltown Malbay was the scene of many such happenings and people were evicted wholesale for no paying their rent.
    She was boycotted and many shopkeepers in Miltown were imprisoned for refusing to supply her with goods .
    Three blacksmiths who refused to shoe her horses were also imprisoned
