    Roinn Roinn Postáil
    Long ago the people were very poor and they had not much money to buy oil or candles.
    When ever a goat or cow died they kept the tallow and melted it on a pan. Then they picked green rushes and dried them. When they were withered they peeled the green skin off and they dipped the pith in the tallow. These lights were called dips and in the night one of the family held the pith while the others were working. When oil and candes got cheap they bought them instead of the dips.
