  1. Here as I lay down to sleep.
I give my soul to God to keep.
May I waken now or never.
I give my soul to God to keep for ever.
There are four corners on my bed.
    There are four angles overspread.
    Mathew, Mark, Luke and John.
God bless the bed that I lie on.
If any evil comes to me.
The Blessed Virgin may waken me.
That I may have my eyes to see.
And my right hand to bless me.
People say that prayer when they are lying down to sleep.
Merciful Jesus lover of souls we pray Thee by the agony of Thy most Sacred Wounds to cleanse in They Blood the sinners of the whole world who are now in their agony and who are to die today.
