He does not know who taught there. There was also one in George Gartlan's field in Lannet. The teacher's name was Rooney.

- The hedge school was in Joe Kelly's field along the Tallanstown road. My grandfather went to school in it and was a fairly good scholar. My father forgot the master's name that was teaching there. For payment they gave the teacher a few shillings and some bread every week.
