The greatest toy of all was the dancing master made of light wood. The head and body in profile was shaped out of one piece while the arms and legs were attached with wire.
There was also a wire joining going at the knees.
A cord about a foot long was through the eyes and held taut letting the dancing masters feet just touching the ground. By humming a jig or reel and beating the time with forefinger on taut chord. Dancing master performs perfect steps. He will "tumble the wild cat" and do several tricks.
