My mother and Cacaí Walsh and the old people about used to tell me this story.

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
The Officer wondered how he was saved himself. He searched his clothes to see if he had a religious emblem. As he looked at his gold watch he saw a tiny little gold medal caught on to his watch. He remembered when he saw going to join the Army that his mother gave him a miraculous medal and told him never to lose it.
He went to Confession and told the Priest the story. He allowed the priest to publish his Confession.
He told the Garrison if any soldier ever carried on the Devil's work to report him without delay.
It was the miraculous medal that saved him, or he would be brought down to Hell body and soul.
