- Trevet
Of all the townlands in the Parish of Curraha, Trevet (before it was annexed to Skryne) was the most important. It is the burial place of Art, son of Conn of the Hundred Battles, King of Ireland and was called from Trí-fórd i.e. three sods, because three sods were dug in honour of the Trinity when the grave of Art was being dug.
A very great monastery was founded at Trevet in the early history of the Church of Ireland. The Annals of the Four Masters(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
