    Long ago the wedding usually took place in the afternoon. All the guests would go in sidecars. People that could afford it would invite the Priest to the wedding. But people that couldn't sometimes brought the wedding cake to the Chapel and had it cut in the vestry. They would put round the plate and the money that was got was given as an offering to the Priest. When the ceremony was over the guests would drive off round the country playing music as they went along and returning to the Bride's home where the wedding feast was held.
