    The old people say that Mass was said at it in the penal times. There was supposed to be a rude cross cut out on one of the stones over the well but it is not to be seen now as it wore away with time. The water drops out of a hole in the bank where there is a spring. It was a good place to say Mass as there is a hill on every side of it and you could see the soldiers coming on each side.
