“Dunfierth also Dunforth contains the ruins of an old parish Church...”
Dunfierth also Dunfourth contains the ruins of an old Parish Church attached to which is a very old graveyard. Miss Donegan of Drummond says that it was the last Monastery destroyed by Cromwell. Only the lower part of the outer walls of the old Church no remain. The church was divided into two parts and is best described by means of the following sketch:-Notes:- A. & B. on the outer walls of the tomb are figures of the 12 apostles (6 on either side).
C. A representation of the Crucifixion is cut out in stone at the end.
