fate had destined it a number of fat cattle were lying across the road. Having his head poised high in the air he did not see them until he stumbled across a fine plump cow. Feeling nothing but a soft hairy mass under he grasped, like a drowning man clutching at a straw, for a solid hold. He caught on to her horns. The cow feeling the sudden weight on her made a dive for the wall of the grave yard. On opening his eyes he found himself lying on a grave with a gigantic white marble tombstone towering above him. He was so dazed by his fall that he mistook the tomb stone for a ghost with its arms outstretched. Without giving a second glance at it he jumped to his feet and started running at full speed. I doubt that any competitor in the All Ireland Championship could have beaten him in his race for home and to this day he still speaks of the gruesome ghost that visits Clondalee grave yard at midnight.
