- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)him and the Catholic Religion. The priest on leaving the land told the game keeper that as long as the lands were in the hands of the Mangans a hare would never live on it. There must have been some truth in this statement because for many years a hare was not seen on the lands of Killyon although they abounded on the neighbouring estates. In 1913 the Land Commissioners took over some of the lands and divided it. The hares then returned to the divided land but yet did not go in on the land retained by the Magans. Again in 1933 the Land Commissioners took over the rest of the land and divided it and then the hares returned to that part also. This story is said to be true and has been wittnessed by people living in the district.
