    used to go to the neighbours land and gather noinens in it and bring them home. The neighbours would get Craentus, (that is a kind of moss) that grows between two boundries, to prevent such a person from taking the milk from the cows. When they would bring home the Craentus they would pound it with a stone and rub it to the cows udder.
    Old people used to think that the fairies could take the butter of the milk. They used to try to stop them. And even yet many people in the West put a burned coal under the churn when making butter.
    If a cow cal(f)ved in the month of may and (if) you were churning that cows milk you should not let anybody in because the old people used to say that they would steal the butter. There would be no more butter on the milk any more.
