    enough for a week. They used to cut marks on the top of the cake. They used to bake it in a pot - oven before the fire. Some of the people used to make boxty - bread long ago. They used to scrape off the skin of the potatoes and cut them up small (or rasp them) and mix them with flour and salt and bake them in a pot oven before the fire. They used to make oaten bread on the griddle long ago. They used to make an oaten cake and put no flour in it at all and bake it on the griddle. They used to use a griddle stand also, and put coals of fire under it and the cake would bake on the griddle.
