(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)to pay the big rent. when the Rathstephen part of the Tucker estate was sold later it was bought by the Farrells of Moynalty. Kearney was unable to keep up the payment of the big rent, and was eventually evicted from Rathstephen.
A bailiff for the Farrell family named Smith lived at Cherrymount. Every tenant on the estate had to pay tribute - which consisted of an ass-load of turf every year. This turf was cut at Feagh Bog, and the constant drain on the bog has led to it being completely cut away.- Bailitheoir
