- The list of the farm animals are Horses, Cattle, Sheep, pigs and Donkeys.
Some people have names on their cows, and they generally call them after the people they buy them from, for example Paddy Farrelly's cow Scot's cow, and John's cow.
When people are driving cattle they say "Hows Hows".
The cow house is generally in two halves, there is a space about two feet left between each half called the "Clossie".
Some keep their cows tied with chains round their necks, and other tie them with "Baels", and some never tie them at all.
Charlie Tully, Lislin. Mullagh. Co Cavan. had a cow died with "Black leg". He kept a bone of the cow and hung it in the cow-shed. He thought it would keep away that disease, and it never trouble him again with cows.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
