   Here is a list of the common farm animals. Horses, cows, asses, cattle, sheep, pigs, cats, dogs, hens, geese, turkeys.
   The cows generally have names such as, the black cow, the polly cow, or by the name of the man they are bought from as "Tom's cow"
   When people are driving cows they shout at them "how how" or "herraway".
   A man used to talk to his horses in Irish. This is what he would say, bowastreen (come here) Hollar (head off) husath (keep off).
   The cows house is sometimes called a byre. It generally has a manger at the top for hay and every stall holds two cows.
   The cows are generally tied by chains but sometimes they are tied by bales.
