  1. Not far from Nobber in the parish of Castletown there is a holy well known as Saint Patrick's well
    There was a cure in this (in this) well, people used to travel long journeys to wash themselves in its waters A Protestant clergyman living near by thought it would cure his dogs of mange He tried the cure, and next day there was no trace of the well to be seen. About four perches further down in the same gripe the well sprung up again. The track of St. Patricks hands and knees can still be seen where he used to pray.
