  2. About eighty years ago two men were going home from the house at eleven o'clock at night. As they passed by a field owned by Captain Hornsby they saw a light at the foot of a large stone. This stone is inscribed with all sorts of writing and is called the "Druids Altar." These men made up their minds to put a stop to all the local gossip about this light. Sp they got a crooked sixpence and put it into a hot gun. They carried it the next night to the spot and fired at the mysterious visitor, as usual the light appeared. When they fired a loud yell was heard. From that day to this the light was never seen.
