  1. Long ago when people were getting married they would walk to the church. If any man who was disliked by neighbours got married, boys would dress themselves in straw and go to the house where the feasting and amusements were going on and try to interrupt the people and these boys were called "strawboys". A rhyme about getting married in June is, "Married in queen rose month of June, life will be one long honeymoon."
