Bless your self when you are beginning the churn.
Don't let the old man smoke his pipe.
Don't dare enter a house while churning is going on without taking a turn.
Don't go in without saying these words God Bless the work even if you are going to help at the churn.
Take of your hat at churning time.
If you hear the sound of churning in a house if it is possible go in and help at the the churn.
Buttermilk is used for making bread. It is the best cure for a cold when made into whey or even boiled. This is the advice nearly all doctors give for a cold. Buttermilk is a very healthy drink and is liked by most people. It is also given to calves for a drink.
