- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)meadows, which surround it. I live near the beautiful hills and vale of Lough-Crew. The Irish name of Loughcrew is Sliabh na Cailighe. It is said that a witch lived on the hills at one time.
- I live in Lough-Crew. In this locality there are three hills which are called Slaibh na Caillighe.
It is said that long ago a hag lived there, and she sued to leap from hill-top to hill-top with an apron full of stones, and as she leaped some of them fell from her apron on to the sides of the hills and they are to be seen there yet. On one of these hills is a stone-seat which is called the "hag's" chair" and on one side of the seat there is a mark in the stone where she used to leave her pipe. There is supposed to be a crock of gold there and a black cat minding it, with a gold chain round her neck. On one of these hills is a cave which leads for miles under ground. - Bailitheoir
