- There are no holy wells in our parish. There is a "Rose" well in Turbetstown which is near this school. People often go to this well to get cured of the disease called the Rose. If the water is applied three times to the affected part it is supposed to cure it.
There is a well called St Feichin's well at a place called Fore. The water in it can never be boiled. People go there to pray. There is a cure in the water. People hang rags on a tree that hangs over the well.
On the top of Maol Hill there is a well which is called St. Briget's well. The water comes out of the rock overhead. If a number of people went to the well, each person would get water except the last one and the well would dry up. Then the person would have to wait till more water came down from the rock.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
