- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)the name of the order to which they belonged. He said that Cromwell's soldiers expelled them from their convent in Aunagh a district in Co. Meath about two miles from Carpenterstown. The convent was situated on the Castle hill. The soldiers burned their convent and all belonging to them. The nuns fled to Carpenterstown and lived there. He could not tell if there was a convent there before that time. There is a well in a field at the back of Mr. Cooney's house called the Nun's well. There's a flag over this well.Written byMary Smyth
