- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)is poured in while churning. As soon as the churning is done the buttermilk is taken out of the churn. Then the butter is put on a wooden plate. The butter has to be beaten with two wooden knives to take the water out of the butter. After that salt is put on the butter and it is made into a roll. The butter milk is used for making cakes. Some people say that if a person throws sugar into the churn that the butter will never be made.
