- In the townland of Ballinahae in the centre of the bog is a small green hill called Deire Fluc. A man who was trying to escape from some soldiers who were following him had a boot filled with gold coins he threw it from the top of Deire Fluc into the bog the way he marked where it fell was where his shadow reached on the 21st June just before the sun set in the West. The god was never found.
