- There is a house in Riverbank not far from Curristown lodge. It was formerly owned by a protestant family called Ferguson.
When the present owners bought it in 1870 they were constantly annoyed by noises and laughing though no one could ever be seen.
One day the woman of the house went upstairs to make the bed and a big black cat was lying in it. She made a blow at the cat and the cat disappeared the door and window were shut.
There was a mission at this time in the parish and one of the Fathers came to this house to sleep as there was not accommodation in the priest's house. This missioner settled the ghosts(continues on next page)- Informant
