Tyrrellspass (age 40)There is an ancient stone in Raheenmore about 200 yards from the chapel.
On this stone is a cross which is embedded in it and which belongs to Dan Grehan.
About 40 perches from the chapel lies a mass stone which is very flat. The priests said mass here in the Penal Days.
There is another mass stone in Clonyheigue where oneof the hunted Bishops was in hiding place in a wood called Dernavelick. He used to read mass on this stone which belongs to Jim Fahy. There is a banside stone on the side of Brennans hill Clonyheigue. It is said that the banside sat on the stone and combed her hair.
The peopleof Clonyheigue fed the Bishop. Some gave him bread and tea.
The Brennans gave him milkand he said that they would never want for milk. Since that time they never wanted for milk.- Bailitheoir
