  1. Fr. Martin P.P Rathowen Russagh of Rathaspick
    He was from Lough Gowna Co. Cavan. He was buried at the edge of Lough Gowna. There was a bell used to ring of its own accord there when there would be a funera.
    The Protestants (orangemen) took the bell twice and buried it and it went back. Then they took the tongue out of it and the bell rang no more.
    (A mother was at the funeral and heard her telling it)
    There was a flag that they used to put the corpse on to go to the burial ground on the island. The orangemen broke the flag.
