1. Churning

   

   Roinn Roinn Postáil

   We have a churn at home. It is an end-over-end churn. It is a barrel shape on a stand. The stand is three feet high, and the churn is two feet high by one foot six inches wide.

   It has a patent lid with a small glass and ventilator. We have the churn thirteen years. There is a hole in the lower part on the side of the churn with a plug. The plug is for letting out the milk, or water when it is cleaned.

   The cream is churned twice a week in the Summer time, and once a week in the Winter time.

   The different parts of the churn are, the lid, stand, handle, and the barrel.

   My mother does the churning at home. It takes about a half an hour to churn the cream.

   If any person comes in while the churning is going on they take a turn at it or they might take the butter
