Football was the only game that was played in this locality long ago.
There used to be twenty men in each team. There were goal posts at each end of the field, and a man in each goal, and the remainder on the fields.
The size of the ball was about a size five. The bladder they used to put in was a pigs bladder.
The cover of the ball was made by the local cobbler. They used to goin up and buy the leather.
The score was counted in goals and points.
There was no hurling matches played in this district in former times. But there were a good many football matches played.
