- Long ago there lived a man in Lissanode, his name was Brian Bannon and he was very useful at iron works. He used to make nails for the people out of bits of scythes and iron. He would not charge as much to those that brought iron as to those that brought none. The nails were sold in dozens. His forge is in existence at present.

Age = 65 years
Occupation = Farmer - In the townland of Kilcornan, parish of Drumraney, there is a rock called the nailers rock. This is how the rock got its name. There was a nailer living in the neighbourhood and as well as making nails he used to make boots and shoes. This rock was situated near his dwelling place. As a rule he married on his work in his house but it was his custom at about six o'clock every evening to go out and work on the rock. Ever since this rock is called the nailers rock.
