there is a winding stone stairs leading from the interior to the top. There is a great view from the top of the hill on which the ruin is. The walls of the ruin are several feet in thickness and the floors are of stone. It is said that a chieftains son loved Bri the daughter of a Chief who lived on this hill. He came with his servants to her father and asked her in marriage. He refused to give her to him and they fought. Bri left her father's palace and went to the interior of the mountain. She returned soon after but she died of a broken heart and the mountain became known as Bri-Leith. However during the past century it became known as castlerea, and many people go to see its ruins
