- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)the house. The farmer also pursued the hare into the house where he saw a trail of blood leading to one of the rooms. He went into the room and to his surprise he saw an old woman lying on the side of a bed and her leg bleeding. He saw right away that she had been taking the butter off the milk and had taken the form of a hare in order to deceive the neighbours. In those days people would not give out milk on May morning fearing that they butter would be taken off the milk.
To get back the butter.
A person losing the butter would go to the house of the people whom they suspected of taking(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
