    Danes for their own protection.
    The two forts in Cavan townland are within view of one another. The small one is enclosed by an earthen mound and covered by thorn shrubbery.
    The larger one has two earthen mounds one within the other and large trees grow on them.
    Although there is no opening or tunnell of any kind visibly connecting them, sounds can be distinctly heard from one to the other, although they are about a quarter of a mile apart.
