   Donohoe's hill there resided a family named. Fitzpatricks Their descendants still survive in Lower Ballyduffy. At the Ballyduffy crossroads two houses stood. One was owned by people named White and the other by people named Reynolds. Both families died out and there is no trace of them now. A small house stood where now stands the cottage owned by Mr Thomas Farrell in Lower Ballyduffy. These people were named Reillys. They emigrated to Scotland many years ago. Many people emigrated from this townland to America in former years. There is a small river separating Ballyduffy from Firmullagh. This stream starts as Loch na mbeach and flows on to Tully Lough. There is a bog in Lower Ballyduffy called the Red Bog. This is so called because plenty of red Sand is to be found there.
