- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)carried on a horse and cart from Drogheda. People made oaten gruel when the milk was scarce. They put down water in a pot and left it on the fire to boil. When it was boiling they put meal on it. That did them for their breakfast. The people put down a pot of potatoes for their dinner. They had pepper and salt for their dinner and a mug of bottom milk. The tables we generally use now are side tables. They are made of a few pieces of boards. There is one leg under the table. It is run on an iron bar about three feet high. It can be turned up and clerked to the loft. The people ate their meals at these tables.
