    The old people used to use a lot of local cures. Here are some of them.
    When a child would have the chincough it would be put in and out under a mare ass legs three times when this would be doen a piece of bread would be given to the child but before the child would eat the bread the ass would breath on it. When the child would eat the bread it would be cured.
    A cure for a sprained ankle is to get some (?) and wash the roots then cut them up real fine then put them in a cloth and put the poultice on your ankle it would never leave your ankle until it would get well.
    A cure for a sore throat is to make a poultice out of turnips and put them on your neck.
