- About forty years ago there lived in Ballykeroguemore, Campile, Co. Wexford a man whose name was James Cushen. He was remarkable for his strength and swiftness. He often lifted a ten stone bag of yellow meal out of a car. He could throw a stone, twenty pounds weight, one hundred and fifty yards. He often walked to New Ross, Co. Wexford, a distance of eight miles, then when he came home he walked to a public house a distance of three miles.
Another man lived in the district of Campile, Co. Wexford. His name was Mick Doran. He was remarkable for his swiftness. One day his father was cutting corn and he was in the field. It was a five acre field. Mick was stucking the corn and a rabbit ran out of the ditch he followed the rabbit two rounds of the field and he caught her in one corner of it in the third round. He was a very swift runner. He is dead fifteen years now. He died when he was seventy four years of age.- Bailitheoir
