There is a man named James Colton.
He lives in Piltown near the river.
He is able to lift twenty-one stone in his mouth. He is a great swimmer also. He was able to swim the river Barrow with his clothes tied on the back of his head.My father and James Colton wanted to go for a drink one Sunday after dinner.
It was a very warm day. They were very thirsty. The public-house was at the other side of the river about a mile away. They could not get a boat anywhere about. So they said they would swim to the public-house. They started off.
When they were near the place James Colton was winning so my father went under the water and James Colton came back to look for my father. He thought he was drowning. My father came up again, passed James Colton and won the race.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
