It started about twelve o'clock. That morning it got very dark and rained very heavily until twelve o'clock. Then it got fine. It was blowing for a long time.It knocked down the Causey Wall in the Island and it knocked down many houses and ricks of hay and straw. There were many trees blown down. Some of them fell on houses. There were many animals killed, houses fell on them and trees fell on them. There were some lives lost.
