    The arms of Ballyhack is (according to this Frenchman) two naked warriors upholding a shield on a blue plain and two ravens or some other bird of prey (I have not the letter at hand and write from memory) in the background. It is hardly possible that this French knight should come in Strongbow's van and build such a massive building out of the war booty and then bid adieu for ever to the scene of his labours. It is more probable that Ballyhack Castle was then in being and our adventurer
