- Long ago people made all their own utensils, that was the reason why a lot of money was saved.
1. Sallies were woven and made into baskets. First the ? was cut out and the ribs, then the sallies were woven in and out to form the basket.2. A little piece of iron called "nail-rod" was used for making nails. First the iron was reddened and put on an anvil and hammered in the form of a nail.3. Churns were made out of staves and iron hoops made by the Cooper.4. Candles were made with lard and tallow.
