   These old travellers would always salute you when they'd come to the door with," God save all here." Sometimes they would sit by the fire and sing old songs and spin old yarns about their travels. One of their songs was
   Above All trades going,
   begging is th best,
   For when a man is tired,
   He can sit down and rest.
   He has no care on him and nothing to do,
   Only sit down and patch
   On his old rig a do.
   And an old stone-cutter long since dead, he was very fond of a drop of the hard stuff. And he said when he died? to put on his headstone,
   "Here lies the body of Denny Byrne,
   Who was never known to do a bad turn,
   He was always jolly, lighthearted and frisky,
   he would have lived longer, had he got more whiskey."
